Tuesday 27th December

Good afternoon folks

A good day that didn’t end the greatest but that’s the game.

Two further selections, along with the ones already sent are as below.

That’s all for Tuesday I will likely be back Wednesday evening next with Thursday’s cards looking fairly decent at this stage but will update either way

3:09 Kempton

SMARTY WILD– 3/4 Pt Each way @ 12/1 Skybet 5 places, 12/1 4 places generally

3:40 Kempton

BIG BOY BOBBY– 1 Pt Each way @ 25/4 Bet365 5 places, 13/2 & 6/1 4 places generally

1:05 Chepstow

GOLDEN WHISKY– 3/4 Pt Each way @ 12/1 4 places generally

Goes very at this course and this race, IMO, has been the aim for local connections. Bolted up in this contest 12 months ago and yet is a 1lb lower on this occasion (2lbs, but out of the weights by 1lb)

The trainer has a tremendous record with his handicap chasers here, 3 winner, 6 placers from his last 8 and his LAST 2 runners over C & D have Won!

I see a big run in the offing with 1st time cheekpieces fitted, an angle the trainer utilises well.

2:10 Chepstow

BOBO MAC– 3/4 Pt Each way @ 12/1 Will Hill (boost) 11/1 4 places generally

Goes very well here and won very impressively here last LTO. A 4lb rise looks lenient given his manner of victory and the trainer has an impressive C & D record with his handicap hurdlers here. (3 of the last 5 have WON!!)

2:50 Chepstow

THE TWO AMIGOS– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 33/1 5 places generally

Sneaks in right down the bottom of the weights and there’s little doubt he has been given a big chance by the handicapper. He likes this track also.

Fifth to Potters Corner in the 2019 running off a mark of 142 and second in the following season’s renewal (run in January 2021) off the same mark as Secret Reprieve, the Nicky Martin-trained ten-year-old could well get in off a mark of 127 next Tuesday.

There are reasons for his slip down the weights, but he has run well enough on occasions to suggest he is well weighted (he was fourth in last season’s Devon National off 134 and second to the improving Revels Hill at Taunton afterwards), and I thought he shaped well enough over an inadequate 3m1f when third at Haydock last month. There is plenty of rain forecast, so conditions are going to be right up his alley.

3:00 Leopardstown

BORN BY THE SEA– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 25/1 7 places Boylesports, 25/1 6 places generally

Born By The Sea was beaten miles by Energumene in the Hilly Way LTO, but he kept on quite well after the last and that race looked a warm-up for this. He has a good record at this distance and a lovely racing weight.
