Afternoon folks
Another winning Saturday, a good day that could and maybe should, as per usual, have been better!
Half Shot looked the winner all the way right up until the line which would have made for a great start and gutting.
Empire Steel did amazing to win considering I thought it was game over after two bad mistakes but he ran on very determinedly at his favourite venue to get up close home and I guess we deserved it after Half Shot.
Thereisnodoubt ran a stormer for us at the age of 10. He was given a ridiculous amount to do and a poor ride I thought and although I don’t think he would have won, he would have gone a hell of a lot closer had he been nearer the field turning in. Still a great return for the place at 50’s.
Black Poppy ran a strange race, cantered into contention and again looked the winner before hitting a flat spot then staying on again to land the each way bet to nothing.
The only average run was Sirobbie and I am scratching my head as to why he faded as he looked the likely winner two out so to finish unplaced was disappointing.
Anyway, the selections ran well and set us up nicely going into next Saturday and Cheltenham week.
The week in racing is not surprisingly average with what’s to come and I will be looking forward to going to Wolverhampton for a quality flat card on Saturday so I will back for next weekends action as per usual throughout the day on Friday with selections.
Then it is onto the following weeks superb action!
