Good afternoon folks
A couple of further selections for Good Friday are as below along with the list of the one’s already sent and their write up’s. Nothing more to follow, back tomorrow for Saturday’s action.
2:40 Lingfield
DINGLE– 1 Pt Win @ 7/1 generally
Looks sure to go well off a tasty mark of 84 (has won off 88 for Richard Hannon in the past) Julie Camacho’s gelding showed instant improvement for a wind operation when winning very impressively I thought over 1m at Newcastle and should go well again despite a 6lb rise on a track he won at off this mark for previous trainer Richard Hannon. He likes the track having registered a win & a 3rd from 2 attempts, the form tying in with the most progressive Totally Charming who he beat easily here before flying home for 3rd behind that horse from a poor draw. Trainer in form with two 2nd’s and a winner from her last 3 runners and Rossa Ryan is a good booking.
2:25 Newcastle
ACED IT– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 35/1 Bet365 4 places 33/1 4 places Skybet, 44/1 Will Hill, 40/1 generally
I feel he can definitely outrun his odds as his form ties in nicely with the shorter priced principals and the jockey is 2 from 4 over this 2 mile trip here. A bit speculative
4:10 Newcastle
ARAMIS GREY– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 16/1 generally
The ever-reliable 6 year old is keeping her form tremendously well and scored her first success outside of handicap company when taking a qualifier at Lingfield back in February, beating subsequent Listed turf scorer Vadream, and didn’t go down without a fight behind 5/4 favourite for this Manaafith in a similar heat at Southwell in January, conceding 1st run also. This stiffer track seems sure to suit I hope and the icing on the cake was the record of the trainer/jockey. Shepherd again has a ridiculous 42.86% win record over today’s 7 furlong trip for them which improves to 66% (2 wins from 3 rides) on the ALL Weather since December 2021! so well worth the each way play in the hope the favourites blow out!
2:40 Lingfield
HAFEET ALAIN– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 31/1 Boost 4 places William Hill, 27/1 5 places Bet365 if you prefer, 28/1 4 places generally
Well backed in the Lincoln trial at Wolverhampton, the race didn’t go to plan. Dropped to a very tempting mark, that man Atzeni is back on board and a superb 4 from 8 in C & D handicaps, ALL wins coming in higher Class than this three so at the prices another cracking value play I thought.
Hafeet Alain has run three times at Lingfield and run to Racing Post Ratings of 103, 98 and 97, the last time being two starts ago when he was an eye-catching fifth. He was only a length behind Diderot, who is one of the market leaders for a later race on this card.
His steady slide down the ratings has gathered pace with those last two runs, though, and he’s now running off just 88, which is 6lb lower than when winning a Class 2 handicap at this track in February last year.
3:15 Lingfield
LEQUINTO– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 20/1 Skybet 5 places, 22/1 Boost 4 places William Hill, 20/1 4 places generally
3 pounds below his last winning mark, he hasn’t had the run of the race in better C & D handicaps the last twice when tipped. The last win came under Atzeni (1 from 2 on him) and he is in red hot form and also boasts a tremendous record in C & D handicaps. Has a tricky draw to overcome once again but a value price IMO with a seemingly decent looking pace on the cards to chase so worth one more chance to come good for us with 1st time blinkers a possible further angle/aid!.
3:35 Newcastle
SAN ANDREAS– 3/4 Pt Win @ 7/1 generally
Ireland’s hope failed by an agonising nose to beat My Oberon in last year’s Mile Final and returns in top form after dominating a 1m conditions race at Dundalk. Joseph O’Brien’s runner has an impressive record on synthetics (five from 18) and is right in the mix again on ratings with James Doyle an eye-catching booking. Doyle rides this C & D as well as anyone with a very impressive 33% Win Strike rate over the past 5 years at this Northern venue. Should go very well from a nice looking high draw.
3:50 Lingfield
DEMBE– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 18/1 Boost 4 places William Hill, 16/1 4 normal terms, 14/1 4 places generally
Last years very good winner returns to his favourite haunt off a good mark. He is 2 wins & 3 places from 5 visits and Jamie Spencer is a decent looking booking and has ridden 5 winners from his last 10 mounts. Hopefully he doesn’t annoy us by holding him too far out of his ground, if not, he must have a chance.
