Good morning folks

ITV4 have coverage from all the races at Musselburgh this afternoon, good racing, very competitive and tough . It is early doors on the flat still so fitness taken on trust somewhat.

We have had a very, very profitable week and points to play with so lets finish it off, and the cracking month overall in good style hopefully.

A couple more races at the Scottish venue as below, along with the two already sent. I will be back with a mail tomorrow for a review/plans for the week ahead.

4:45 Musselburgh

VINDABOLA– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 33/1 4 places generally

GOMETRA GINTY– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 20/1 4 places generally

6:45 Musselburgh

MATTICE– 3/4 Pt Win @ 17/2 generally

SACRED JEWEL– 1.25 Pt Win 15/2 generally

5:15 Musselburgh

DARK MYSTERY– 3/4 Pt Win @ 10/1 Bet365, 9/1 William Hill,17/2 generally

Could be a very well handicapped 4 year old to go to war with this season but may blow out 1st time up, though worth chancing his jumps based trainer has him fully tuned up and why wouldn’t he given this is his comments on the horse:

QUOTE

Ben Brookhouse, trainer: “He’s in very good form and the wind op seems to have helped him. I wouldn’t be sending him all the way up there from Newmarket if I didn’t think he had a very good chance. If he reproduces his win around Newbury last year, which I think is the true Dark Mystery, then this should suit. He’s very fresh and we’ve kept him for this after we didn’t get in at Bath on Good Friday. I’m looking forward to running him and he likes better ground. This is just about his trip although it may slightly be on the short side”

That Newbury win was very taking indeed, thrashing a very good horse in Novel Legend by over 2 lengths. That horse is now rated 95 now so Dark Mystery, if anywhere near that form in this, should go very close off his rating of just 72 in comparison!

6:15 Musselburgh

MISTER BLUEBIRD– 3/4 Pt Each way @ 9/1 4 places William Hill, 8/1 4 places generally

He won over this course and distance last year, and the winning time and sectionals compared very favourably with those of the Listed race that preceded it over the same trip, especially as Mister Bluebird was carrying 9-10.

He returns here off a mark just 1lb higher and has Billy Loughnane, who won on his only previous ride for the yard, claiming 5lb.

Heather Main doesn’t send many horses to Scotland, for good reason, (it is a 13 hour, 760 mile round trip!!) but they are usually of significant note.

She has sent out 3 winnerss and 4 places from 7 runners All Time at the Scottish track! That imprves to 2 from 4 over today’s C & D where the formline reads 1,2,3,1!!

Mister Bluebird has enough early pace to take up a good position despite his high draw and a big run looks on the cards.
