***Update – Selection for EPSOM Day 1, Friday 2nd June***

Good afternoon folks

I know I said I would be back tomorrow, but with the cards and runners finalised, and races well priced up I have had a good look in advance at a couple of the handicaps for Day 1 of the Epsom Derby meeting.

Old friends Dual Identity & Majestic both go in the 1m 2f handicap (will decide what to do with them tomorrow as from their respective draws (1 & 2) will need some mighty luck in running) but from that Newmarket race two runs back, a horse that finished in front of both that I have had my eye on is worth backing at this stage and the horse in question is as below. Back Thursday late afternoon onwards with further advice

3:45 Epsom, Friday 2nd June 2023

TOSHIZOU– 3/4 Pt Each way @ 20/1 Skybet 4 places, 18/1 Will Hill 4, 16/1 4 places generally

The son of Galileo is starting to look seriously well handicapped and we all know what his father did at this track! The Dam is out of Invincible Spirit and he too was renowned for enjoying these quirky, undulating tracks so I am hopeful Toshizou too follows in their footsteps and enjoys this track. He has a nice draw to finish strong and wide from stall 7 and Hollie Doyle rides the ‘Downs’ well. She also has a cracking 2 year record for trainer Roger Fell (wouldn’t run many here) boasting a superb 3 winners from 8 runners (37.5 % Win SR) 4 placers in handicaps to date! So all in all it is not hard for me to envisage that this has been Toshizou’s big early season target and I think he can go very well!
