Good afternoon folks
A very trick looking Saturday as we head into next week. Roman Dragon was a fancy but price has gone now so nothing further.
I shall have the usual morning look and send out a mail/update then if anything to add.
2:35 York
FORTAMOUR– 3/4 Pt Each way @ 11/1 4 places bog generally
Has caught my eye the last twice and runs well at this track. He has dropped to a mark of 79 which looks the key to him getting his head back in front. In fact from a mark of 80 and below his form figures read a tremendous 2,1,2,1,2,4,1,3,1! so let’s hope, under Hanagan who gets on well with him, he get’s the 1 for us!
3:20 Chester
REIDH– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 33/1 4 places bog generally
Smooth traveller, this fast course where his trainer does very well, could suit. He has was unlucky against Derby runner up Hi Royal a couple of runs back and caught the eye at York last time when pulling hard in a very slowly run race. The drop back in trip should help and though he needs to take a step forward, for the money this isn’t the greatest of contests so I felt there was enough for chance him as the outsider of the field.
3:40 York
MISS JUNGLE CAT– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 33/1 & 28/1 6 places bog generally
Has some strong form, including over C & D. 1st time out the concern but this trainer is mustard with his sprinters and fired another one in at this track today. Could blow out but the form lines stack up, just whether she needs it but did win 1st time out last year, her first ever racecourse appearance which bodes well and the cheekpieces, which massively improved her last year are on so hopefully she is not there just to make the numbers up?
4:50 York
JEWEL MAKER– 1 Pt Each way @ 9/1 4 places bog generally
Very unlucky the last twice, should have his ideal set up at this track and with the wide open expanse, should get one clean run which he needs. If so, handicapped to go very close and this strong traveller is a perfect 1 from 1 at this intermediate 1m 1f trip.
5:25 York
GHATHANFAR– 3/4 Pt Each way @ 16/1 4 places bog Will Hill, 14/1 4 places generally
Dropping nicely to a good winning mark, he has been running well against higher class horses in a higher Grade of race. Travels very well and goes well here but it was his record in June that ‘took my eye out’. His record reads 2,2,1,1,2,4,2,2,1,1!! so I thought in this lesser race, well worth chancing for his in form yard and a jockey who has ridden him just the twice, narrowly beaten each occasion
