Good evening folks
A reminder that this is classed as a Festival so kept separate from the main account.
Just a couple more on a very tricky looking card are as below, along with the ones sent yesterday. Back tomorrow afternoon with selections for Day 2’s action.
2:25 York
HOT FUSS – 1/2 Pt EW @ 9/1 bog Corals 3 places, 9/1 3 places Lads, 11/1 generally
Last two runs were also at 7f; close fifth in the Listed Chesham at Royal Ascot (good to firm) before winning as he liked from the front on soft ground at Salisbury; latter form entitles him to a crack at this loftier level.

Tom Dascombe, trainer: “He’s a nice horse who is progressing with his racing and we feel his progression has not yet come to an end. It’s an open Acomb this year with no short-priced favourite in there and our fellow is very professional. It’s different ground to that he won on at Salisbury but I expect him to be equally effective on a fast surface.
4:45 York
KIMNGRACE– 1/2 Pt EW @ 10/1 4 places Bet365, 9/1 4 places generally
Respectable fifth in both runs since returning from a break and I feel she may well raise her game back at York, where she’s 1-1 over C&D after a win last October, bolting up by 3 lengths. She has some strong form against the older horses in the 1st race on the card and was a Listed scorer on AW. She has dropped to a very workable mark and should go well
1:50 York
MANILA SCOUSE – 1 Pt EW @ 10/1 6 places generally
MAKANAH – 1/2 Pt EW @ 25/1 5 places Bet365, 20/1 5 places Betfrsrtsbook, 18/1 5 places (drifting so maybe see later) generally
A rapidly improving 4 year old, his form against Aberama Gold is strong and there for all to see and he should give it a massive effort off just 8st 7lb and looks an each way bet to nothing even allowing for the draw!!
Makanah is a smooth traveller and down to his lowest mark for 2 years, an effort that saw him canter into the lead at this track over 6F only to be beaten late in the piece. Again, drawn high, but likes this track and could go very well also.
