**A Selection for Today and the Week Ahead**

Good morning folks

The AW experiment didn’t go to plan, a profit was made if you got Best Odds/went S.P but a small loss on the day to advised. Treading water at the moment but these times happen and we are protecting the bank in the main, not suffering big losses like many and you saw the reasoning behind the selections.

This period is always tough for obvious reasons with the weather and frost affected ground seems to ride ridiculously tough. Lots of thhe good horses are in hiding, naturally keeping their powder dry with the Festival looming large and just 7 weeks away!

One gripe though is I COULD’NT believe the massive drifts on our runners?

They went off unfathomable prices which is never the best of signs. Dayzee ran a cracker as I thought she would but I hated the the positions the others raced in. EVERYONE who is clued up about racing knows for CERTAIN that the inside rail at Lingfield is MOST definitely NOT the place to be, even Jason Weaver (a top class jockey) knows as it rides like treacle yet experienced jocks continue to persevere with it.

See You Boy was in front of and going much better than the eventual 1st and 2nd yet Hollie Doyle waited and tried to shoot up the inner when the other two pulled wide and I do think he would have gon very close had she come off the inside as she had finished well in front of those in the C & D run three back.

Anyway we move on. I had a really good look at the Lingfield card. Most of the races are super tight and eeny meeny miney mo/take your pick kind of events. I couldn’t get a clear enough picture to have a strong enough opinion to commit to a tip but having said that, away from the cameras, I like one in the last event which is below.

Sandown on Friday has a couple of nice races well entered at this stage so I wiill take a look at the card and advise any tips early Thursday evening if I can find anything and will update as usual either way.

For sure though, I will be back next throughout the day Friday with tips for Saturday’s action where we have Cheltenham on the menu.

Today’s tip is below:-

4:10 Lingfield

CANTY BAY – 3/4 Pt EW 16/1 4 Will Hill, 14/1 4 places generally drifting

After a long period in the doldrums, trainer Emma Lavelle has had a handful of recent winners so hopefully she has a lot of well handicapped horses on her hands. Indeed, she knows a very good, workable handicap mark as he has an excellent near 30% Win SR in the past 5 years with her 1st time handicappers like this fellow.

Canty Bay travels very strongly and looked set to shake up subsequent easy winner Lord Of Thunder LTO before unfortunatey falling when making a challenge. That horse has serious potential and is now rated 129 and Canty Bay was conceding him a 7lb penalty that day which makes our lads opening of 115 very very workable and attractive based off of that run. He bolted up the time before and this track should play to his smooth travelling nature so I thought worth siding with at a decent price.
