Morning folks
As I have stated before and no doubt most people feel, these two months are a little depressing and I always seem to find Jan & Feb tough, like treading water.
Yesterday was another case in point. What should have been a big winner and a cracking start to the day was dampened by non runners and the withdrawal at the start. Mark Of Gold won well and surely would have gone close in the full field. Again, I struggled in the Graded races, why I bother in those I don’t know at times but I am mindful, with not that many of my favouring races to go at yesterday, with providing selections. I had a number of queries last week only putting a couple up so it’s always catch 22 for me?
Killer Kane probably needs better ground but it cannot have helped racing 4 wide (my pet hate) on the beds at a sharp track! It’s no coincidence that all the horses in the finish stuck to the inside or is it me? They never learn.
I tip these horses for a good reason (as the write ups tell) and they always pay their way. He ran well in last year’s Topham at the Aintree meeting to finish 3rd and that race has long been suggested as his MAJOR target so we shall see on the day.
The day ended flat with the massively gambled on Gustavian falling at the 2nd..Racing eh???
We have had a massive amount of these very well backed horses (we have got on early so that is value and how to make good profit in the long term) but I cannot fathom or recall the last one that went in for us??
Anyway, a slight profit and no damage so we move on.
There is some classy AW racing at Lingfield on Friday and also a few at Newbury. I know it’s not ideal but they look good from this far out so I shall take a good look at some of those and provide a mail out any selections before 7PM on Thursday. If not, I will update either way.
