Morning folks
A break even day on Saturday, like probably you, I feel a little aggrieved and we could, maybe should, have landed two biggies. A tale of misfortune I feel.
Mistral Star was gunned from stall 1 to get a position which I kind of get, but it her set her alight. She absolutely tanked, pulling like a train from there on in and, I don’t feel it was a bad ride, she must be some horse as she was constantly denied a clear shot at a run but STILL did well to finish off fir 3rd.! She’s a class filly and WILL pay us back no doubt.
Paul Mulrennan is a different kettle of fish….Park Street was well drawn in 5 and in a lot of years of racing, I can’t ever remember a horse being tanked back to last ( a 5 length last by the way?) then into the home straight, I pick out these smooth travellers and why oh why did he try to persevere with going inside? Not only once but a few times where we repeatedly denied a clear run before he finally switched wide and finished like a train.
That horse should and would have won IMO.
Point Lynas got the place and was staying on well again. Looked in a lovely position but clearly a mile suits better.
Im kicking myself for having 2 in a sprint l, I went either side, and as we see with these sprints at Haydock, it’s anyone’s guess
Im taking a short break to recharge the batteries in preparation for Royal Ascot so I’m back late Thursday. There is some nice race scheduled at this point for Friday so if I get chance I will take a look and mail out before 7:30 with any selections or update accordingly.
It will be business as usual throughout the day Friday for Saturdays action so back Thursday evening with the next mail.
