Two Further Tips, Sat 15th June 2024

Evening folks

Two further tips are below, along with the ones already sent and their write up’s. Nothing further for what looks a tricky Saturday.

3:15 Sandown

SPANISH BLAZE – 3/4 Pt EW @ 18/1 4 places Betfred, 14/1 4 Sky, 18/1 generally

A C & D winner, he finishes his race off very strongly. His trainer has had 3 winners from his last 7 runners and also does very well at this track. Jockey riding better now (3 from 9, 4 placers for Tregoning on turf) also so I envisage a smooth, strong late run down the outside to go close.

2:45 Chester

WOODSTOCK CITY – 1 Pt EW @ 10/1 4 places Betfred, 9/1 4 Sky, 11/1 generally

Most unfortunate over C & D LTO, hopefully he gets a better passage than some of our latest bets. If doing so he should go close.

1:50 York

ANDALEEP – 1/2 Pt EW @ 16/1 5 places generally

Tipped LTO at this track, that race was a lot tougher than this which is confined to female jockey’s. Buick dropped him way out and he stayed on nicely that day. He goes back up in trip and has bolted up at the course previously. He gets the very able assistance of Brodie Hampson who has won on 3 of her last 5 rides. The big field should suit and he is nicely berthed in 5 to be smuggled away so all in all, at the price worth backing at a good price/place terms in an open heat.

2:05 Sandown

CLASSIC – 1/2 Pt EW @ 14/1 Bet365 5places, 15/1 William Hill 5 places

MASCAPONE – 1/2 Pt EW @ 13/1 boost Will Hill 5 places, 12/1 normal, 10/1 6 places Skybet, 9/1 generally

Both these horses caught my eye. Both like the faster terrain and the former likes this track. Both will need to be ridden for luck but at the prices I thought worth chancing the pair.

2:25 York

TOLSTOY – 1/2 Pt EW @ 33/1 6 places generally

Fairly bolted up just in the 1st, I liked the way he travelled and quickened. If he is allowed to run again tomorrow must go very well at a huge price if none the worse which is the big issue.

3:20 Chester

BURDETT – 1 Pt EW @ 12/1 4 places generally

He looked pretty good value for the win and, seeing as he landed his maiden on soft at Ffos Las last September, he’s going to be right at home if the heavens open.

I’m hoping a proper test at the trip will also help negate the very wide draw to some extent, but Ray Dawson – who takes over this weekend – was probably fairly settled on the fact he’ll most likely have to pick his way through from the back anyway, and stall 14 in effect just makes his mind up for him.

Prior to Friday’s action, Channon had only had four runners at Chester since taking over the licence from his father but one of those was successful and two others have finished in the frame so it’s hoped the journey might pay off again.

THE COFFEE POD – 1/2 Pt EW @ 33/1 5 places Paddy Power 30/1 boost Lads 5 places, 28/1 5 places generally

Caught the eye in the Dash at Epsom, coming home strongly from a poor draw. I can’t quite understand his price as he beat Ziggys Condor comfortably over C & D last year with decent horses behind. He now GETS weight yet is 4 times the price. Looks well drawn in a low stall which has been an advantage of late at this track so a chance taken on him in a red hot race.
