BRAVE NATION – 1 Pt EW @ 15/2 generally (drifting so may get bigger)
Still only 4, this son of Sioux Nation is sort I like as they show good form as a 2 year old then go missing in their 3 year old season. He has shown the last twice though, where he caught my eye on both occasions, that he looks ready to strike. He likes this track finished an easy winner and running on strong 2nd from 2 runs and his trainer is in form winning with his last 2 runners! In fact, in the past 5 years he has ONLY run 3 over C & D, returning form figures of 1,2,3 ALL placing so IMO he must go close and I would be very disappointed if he didn’t place at the very least so worth a bet in these tricky sprints (NB we had Mon Na Slieve at Ascot last time, given a poor ride I thought and is being backed but I would rather play ours EW)
4:15 Sandown
PRAGUE – 3/4 Pt Win @ 10/1 generally
Could prove not up to this class but I thought worth chancing win only with just enough juice in his price. This once raced 4 year old could be open to any amount of improvement (that’s the imponderable to weigh up) but he was mightily impressive over C & D on that debut run, bolting up by over 4 lengths in a decent time. I like his prominent style of racing and the way he broke from the stalls so could also get the run of he race. Jockey/trainer combo does very well but as I said, win only as could blow out.
