Morning folks
I absolutely hated yesterday, knowing full well before the action commenced that the weather had scuppered my usual spot on approaches. I cannot control the elements but ONLY our racing, with the best race to be run, can be abandoned for slipping on quick ground!
If you would have just looked at the paper you would have thought Haydock had gone due to torrential rain but no! Then Sandown rode extremely testing, even the superstar that is supposed City Of Troy struggled home!
Constants are very important for form study. There was no soft in the Haydock going and ALL ours needed plenty of cut and both ours to run (at least Jack Channon used his brains and took Flash Bardot out…Sandown trainers take heed!) made big moves but couldn’t pull back the ones in front who weren’t stopping on the faster ground.
The Sandown runners may as well have stayed at home, no chance on very testing terrain. Purosangue could have won but he relishes very soft ground so all in all a frustrating day…then we had the football!!
We still made a profit over the weekend though thanks to Brave Nation so we can quickly move on.
This week Thursday sees the start of the 3 day Newmarket July meeting then York and Ascot join the party for Friday and what is commonly known now as SUPER Saturday. Some cracking racing on offer and very busy so I will next be back late afternoon/early evening Wednesday with any selections for the 1st Day of Newmarket.
