The Week Ahead

Good Morning folks

We left it late in the end but a profit was achieved and a near 33% ROI on a very, very tough day. But for a short head & a nose we would have added a further +11 points to the tally but another good winning month achieved!

I must say, for 3 out of the last 4 Saturday’s I haven’t enjoyed watching/experiencing the racing despite looking forward beforehand and obviously seeing our selections perform.

The way the races are being run and some of the winners are ridiculous! I hope to god we don’t go down the way of the ‘French’ with crawl and sprint racing but who knows and we saw with Goliath, who did just that, take a poor King George. A coincidence? Me thinks not.

Funereal pace gallops, in big field handicaps by the way, is galling! Take the big Ascot race, fair play if you backed the winner, but that Northern Express, who has done us some nice turns and a horse I like has NEVER made the running so how could you guess that? He was beaten over 6 lengths by Billyjoh & Carrytheone yet over the SAME C & D at the Royal Meeting yet turned around 10 lengths due to front running. They came past him that day like he was standing still!

Other winner’s at other tracks did similar and I couldn’t have found them with radar.

Give me a fair gallop and my share of the rub of the green that we don’t often get, then I will ALWAYS be there. That’s also why I like picking when the ground gets softer as it levels the playing field.

It’s no coincidence, due to hard work and study, that at the toughest racing in the world at the BIG meetings, may I add, I have a cracking record. Obelix ran well in face of his race but if you had given 25’s AL Marmar (who I really liked) before the off I would have asked for my money back. I knew before the get go he was dead from the start and so it transpired, staying on well from the rear when it was all too late. Tough sprints at York as well and I never seem to get the draw (it is a really tricky track to work out at times though) so I need to revisit my approach to those.

Anyway, I need to realise the profit’s but I needed to vent my frustration, and no doubt your watching, so apologies. I’m just so passionate about this for us!

Anyway, on we go and there is a cracking week ahead with the 5 Day ‘Glorious Goodwood’ meeting on the menu, along with Galway. I don’t envisage that much action at Galway but we shall see. Goodwood is mainly tremendous racing, racing that I don’t really have much concern over the way races are run as I said abov e so this week will be treated as a FESTIVAL with the following applying………..

These bets are kept separate from the main account and I will be personally throwing targeted darts at a few biggies, sometimes in races I wouldn’t normally!

I will be backing them to according stakes and I always put aside a 50 point x £30 stake bank for such meetings (use what’s comfortable for you if you so wish), knowing full well I could lose the lot which is most definitely NOT the plan!!

That’s an average of 10 points per day over the 5 days.

We have nailed some superb gains in the past at these unique meetings so lets hope we can continue that trend with some nice winners.

The results will NOT be recorded against the main account in order not to damage that in a worst case scenario which can happen (hopefully not!) and with the volume of study the write up’s will be at a minimum.

So it makes sense to do that to my mind and that is what I do with my own money that I have saved and put to one side willing to lose it as with Cheltenham/Aintree/Ascot/Doncaster/York/Newmarket’s etc and other meetings of this ilk so:-

Selections for Tuesday through to Saturday will be sent out the evening before their designated assignments, NO later than 7:30PM. Day 1’s tomorrow may be later than usual as I have an appointment so with that being said, I will be back late afternoon onwards tomorrow with any Day 1 selections.
