Morning Folks
It’s the final day of the turf flat season tomorrow so that will be my focus. It has been a testing season, we have had some cracking winners and good profits but the tail end has been tough. This Doncaster meeting is known to throw up some strange results simply because horses have had a long, tough season. I read an article about watering flat courses (so I have been right ALL Along) which was a disgrace really for us punters and lovers of the game? So fair play to Wincanton for not doing so, citing it’s only fair to give good ground horses a chance to win some good prize money!
The weather has reduced the National Hunt fields and maybe Ascot should consider running Champions Day around this time of year to end the season with a bang??
As it’s crossover of disciplines time of year, I don’t envisage going mad, especially over the sticks so lets hope we can change the run of 2nds into the all important winners.
I did have a look at the action from Exeter today which is on ITV4 but I couldn’t find anything that I fancied at the prices with many well found.
One horse I do like thus far at Doncaster tomorrow is below. More to follow later.
1:20 Doncaster
THUNDERBEAR– 1/2 Pt EW @ 20/1 Bet365, 18/1 Ladbrokes boost, 16/1 generally
A tough 4 year old, the trainer had 3 winners from 7 runners on these shores last season, mainly with this type of sprinter. I like the booking of Rossa Ryan (3 from 10 over C & D past 3 years) and he is drawn around the pace. His last 2 runs have been cracking efforts and our sprinters are much of a much so at the price I thought worth chancing.
