It’s often nice to have your own picks in such a tough, iconic race but here are mine and follow them if you so wish.
4:00 Aintree
MINELLA COCOONER – 3/4 Pt Win @ 16/1 Skybet, 14/1 generally
MEETINGOFTHEWATERS – 3/4 Pt EW @ 28/1 Boost Lads, 25/1 6 places generally (driftng so look for bigger)
TWIG – 1/2 Pt EW @ 80/1 Skybet 6 places, 66/1 6 generally
I like all 3 but Meetingofthe waters came cantering in it last season yet got messed around by a loose horse at the last which did for him in part but he was only 7 then and returns as an 8 year old (good record nowadays) so on better ground also, should see it out better and carries a ‘Rough Quest’ weight of 10st 7lb. His master trainer is well mobbed but nominated in after his last run.
