Morning folks
A good three days on the whole, a decent profit that could and should have been better. The two placers helped. We had some cracking rides yesterday didn’t we???
Point Lynas wold have won IMO had Spencer not gunned him so fast so early shooting him 12 lengths clear, couldn’t understand it!
Big Mojo was unlucky and it was gutting to be beaten by the complete outsider who was the biggest priced winner of the race in it’s long long history.
Joanna Mason gunned La Trinidad from the stalls and set him alight. He did well to last in there as long as he did given he pulled like a train in yet another slowly run handicap. Gale got bullied, baulked and pushed wide, no chance from that position in yet another slowly run big field handicap.
Stormy Impact would have gone close I feel had the jockey stayed stands side instead of switching and she finished full of running and one to keep an eye on.
The worst though IMO, and Buick has done us a few times was Akkadian Thunder. He got pelters for some of his rides at Ascot yet was riding winners for fun at this track. He knew all week, and having ridden the winner in the previous race doing the same, that stands side was the place to be yet he went the widest on the track. More Thunder was drawn WIDER than him and his jockey managed to do it!
His form was strong, boosted earlier by Never So Brave beating Point Lynas and again, IMO, on form no way should that horse (who was well punted also) have been out of the first 4 yet he was.
That’s racing and on we go. It’s a quiet week with Glorious Goodwood next, so I will be back throughout the day Friday for Saturday’s action.
