Good afternoon folks
No chance at all drawn stands side, hope we are not dead for later races and tomorrow with Run To Freedom etc??
Just the one more for tomorrow a Ascot. I shall look to see if I can find anything away from Ascot for the Main service and update accordingly
5:35 Ascot
CUBAN DAWN – 3/4 Pt Each way @ 22/1 boost 5 places William Hill, 22/1 5 places generally
Improving horse Similar form in Listed race at the Curragh and when a close second in good-ground maidens at Cork and Gowran Park, all over 1m last month; changed hands for £300,000 on Monday; needs major improvement but the big positive, backed up by his performances, is that he’s bred to be very well suited by further than 1m, is unexposed and could go close.
2:30 Ascot
MATNOOKH – 1/2 Pt Each way @ 20/1 4 places Bet365, 16/1 4 places generally
Sea The Stars colt who caught the eye at Windsor (6f, good to firm) where he was slowly away and got behind before finishing nicely for third of 11; evidently crying out for this longer trip and ought to improve and the trainer nearly did us a turn with Malc.
Trainer states: He fell out of the gates at Windsor and we haven’t had him that long, we got him at the last breeze-up sales. He came home well for third at Windsor and though he’ll have to improve to have a say here he does go alright at home. He’s not just an extra, if he improves he could run a big race
3:05 Ascot
OLIVIA MARALDA – 1.25 Pt Win @ 10/1 Bet365, 8/1 generally
2yo highlight was her Group 2 second at the Curragh (7f, good) behind subsequent Irish 1,000 Guineas runner-up Meditate, and she returned to form on her second start for this yard when beating Holguin and Streets Of Gold to win Epsom Listed race (7f, good to firm) on Oaks day, a very convincing winner in that last race and that performance makes her one to consider her with Guineas form also a must.
3:40 Ascot
RUN TO FREEDOM – 3/4 Pt Each way @ 22/1 5 places generally
Improving horse who has greatly benefitted from having the cheekpieces fitted and Certainly bred for the job, being a half-brother by 2015 Commonwealth Cup winner Muhaarar to Twilight Son, who won this race for Henry Candy the following year. Only tenth at 100-1 in it last year but has improved since rapidly since. He stepped up from a handicap and raced on the wing so can be forgiven that. Beating all bar Kinross in the Champions Sprint over C&D last autumn and getting up late on in a Salisbury Listed race four weeks ago equally effective on good to firm and good to soft and looks to have a good each way chance IMO for his very much in form trainer.
4:20 Ascot
GRAND ALLIANCE – 1/2 Pt Each way @ 33/1 3 places generally
The John Porter he won in good style has been a good guide to this. Narrowly beaten by Changingoftheguard over C & D at this meeting last year (good to firm) possibly needs a drop of rain/watering but at the price for a trainer jockey combo with a record of 3 rides, 1 win, 2 places worth a shot.
5:00 Ascot
KAPE MOSS – 1 Pt Win @ 33/1 generally
SPIRIT OF LIGHT – 1.25 Pts Each way @ 40/1 6 places generally
JUAN LES PINS – 1.25 Pt Win @ 25/1 generally
