A Selection for Ayr, Friday Day 2

Good afternoon folks

Apologies for the absence, I have simply felt very unwell for a while. The good news is, although I’m still getting there, I’m back now. We haven’t been getting the rub of the green/run of the races of late so hopefully with softer ground around the corner that will change.

I used to love this Western Meeting at Ayr but the class seems to have dropped drastically from ‘back in the day’. There are a lot of tricky sprints Friday especially the 2 year old stakes races (not my forte as you all well know)

I must say though, Saturday’s action across the tracks is definitely up my street and cracking action all afternoon it seems so I anticipate a fair few strong selections for then. There are thunderstorms forecast for Newbury? (would have gone strong on old friend Witch Hunter as he loves that straight C & D but wouldn’t want the ground softer than it already is) With that in mind, and the amount of races to attack for Saturday, I will go with just a couple of selections, the first which is below. Another to follow when prices readily available.

4:15 Ayr

HAVANA RUM – 1/2 Pt EW @ 18/1 boost Will Hill 6 places, 16/1 normal 6 places, 14/1 5 generally

An improving 4 year old, he has been catching the eye running on strongly numerous times this season. Gets on exceptionally well with the jockey. Granted we are on the right part of the track (1st big field sprint of the meeting) and a strong pace to chase, I can see him going very well.
