I have had a good look at the last two handicap hurdles on the Sandown card Friday and a selection for one of those is below. Nothing further doing, back throughout the day tomorrow for Saturday’s action.

Still only 5, this gelded son of Le Havre still has time on his side to improve and I think he will go well from the foot of the weights after an encouraging, staying on nicely return to timber LTO, finding the 2 mile trip on the short side. He has run twice already at this track, going close in 2nd on each ocassion, shaping as if this trip is what he wants now. He has bolted up over the trip and the booking of Harry Cobden suggests a big run is in the offing. His rookie trainer, who only started training in December last year and he went 42 consecutive losers before his first winner and has since fired in another couple. He has a good record at this trip with his hurdlers and Cobden, who rides this C & D well, is 1 from 1 for the stable at it also so all in all, worth a speculative bet IMO.
