Morning folks
The two placers softened the blow yesterday with just over half the outlay lost on a poor day, especially watching which I badly disliked. Not that much damage in the context of this is a long game but Course & Distance form has served me exceptionally well over the past 30 years tipping & punting but yesterday it didn’t go well. We had 4 solid C & D horses at Kempton yet ALL of them ran poorly. Pyramid Place had thrashed yesterday’s second, Stoners Choice, yes was never put into the race which is my pet hate!
Without a shadow of a doubt the 10mm of rain drastically effected the going but as a tipster overnight, it’s impossible to predict! I picked for good ground horses and it was clear they badly suffered.
I thought we got 2 poor rides at Southwell and yet again we were on a monster gamble. Why oh why do jockey’s hold up so far out of their ground in slow races. Humble Spark bolted up the night before but the poor horse was never given a chance yesterday staying on too late. Had he sat more prominent he would have placed at a juicy price IMO. Mr Mistoffelees was given a strange weaving in weaving out ride, should have followed the winner through.
Still, these days happen but on we go to next weekend.
There is a cracking days racing on the All weather at Lingfield on Friday and Newbury also joins in so I will be back next Thursday, possibly just before lunchtime onwards with any Friday Tip.
Speaking of tip, one I sent last time who set a brutal gallop over a trip too short goes at Fontwell. The Sam Thomas yard had a great day yesterday, are in brilliant form and 4 of their last 6 runners have won. The said below horse should get his own lead, will relish the ground and step back up in trip and although he has it to do slightly on the ratings, there was enpough in the price to chance and it is:-
