Good afternoon folks
One further selection is as below, along with the ones already sent. Back Tomorrow for Saturday’s quality action.
3:50 Newbury
SECRET SHADOW– 3/4 Pt Each way @ 17/2 4 places B.O.G generally
This has the look of a plot job IMO! Secret Shadow has moved from the brilliant Andrew Balding to the master jumps trainer. Nicholls has a cracking record with ‘switchers’ in the past 2 years which reads 23 runners, 6 winners & 13 placers first time of asking!
Secret Shadow loves this course with a decent 4th and a win where she relatively bolted up. If she is also ready (good record fresh in the past with form figures of 1,3,1,3,2, narrowly beaten in the placer runs!), and why would she lack for fitness from this yard, then I feel she can run a very big race here.
1:15 Ayr
FIRST IMPRESSION– 3/4 Pt Win @ 11/1 Bet365, 10/1 generally
SCOTS POET– 3/4 Pt Win @ 9/1 generally
2:05 Newbury
HAYMAKER– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 18/1 5 places B.O.G generally
This likeable 4 year old has a progressive profile and the kind of horse I latch onto for the Flat season. Should race prominently, something I like at this track, and his trainer is in cracking form with 4 of his last 8 runners winning!
His Sire & Dam BOTH won valuable races at this course. Jockey Jason Hart has been booked (2 of last 4 for this trainer have won) so if ready to go, which is always the unknow this time of year, he can go well.
3:35 Ayr
AURORA THUNDER– 3/4 Pt Each way @ 12/1 4 places Skybet & Unibet, 12/1 generally
Trainer needs no bigging up after her Aintree heroics and she is in cracking form. This horse should have WON the last 2 runnings of this, falling unluckily when challenging re-opposing Get A Tonic (massively better off at the weights with that one also) then short headed the previous year, cantering in both races. The impressive claimer takes her weight further down and although she does need to recapture some form, I am hoping she can at her favourite track.
