Good afternoon folks

With Wetherby unlikely to get the go ahead (more rain forecast, Inspection 7am in the morning) and Newmarket already heavy, a watching brief shall be adopted even if it goes ahead so as I can see what is going on with Saturday in mind at both tracks.

The racing this weekend will take a battering from the weather no doubt so a steady as we go approach, especially as I said on Sunday this period is very tough, will be adopted.

Having said that, I do have one selection for us on Friday which is as below.

Back tomorrow, probably lunchtime onwards, for Saturday’s action.

3:10 Newmarket

TORCELLO – 3/4 Pt Win @ 7/1 Bet365, 4/1 generally (just a few books priced so may get better)

Tipped twice this year, he was narrowly denied for us at a monster price earlier in the year. That was over 1m 6f here if you recall which is a touch too far, as we found again LTO at Goodwood in a very strong race. He loves Newmarket and the prevailing heavy terrain. He is 4 wins, 5 places from 8 runs at this track and this habitual front runner gets on very well with master tactician Joe Fanning who is excellent at dictating the pace. He has ridden Torcello 3 times, form figures read 1,2,4!

He won this very race last year and although the trainer has had a barren run, he knocked in a winner recently. Likely to get his own way in front, he will relish conditions (unknown for a lot especially at this trip) and his extra stamina will be an asset on the uphill climb to the jam stick. It’s been a long season and ground can stop trains but all in all rates a decent bet IMO and should go very well all being known!
