Good afternoon folks

The first day of Sandown card has cut up somewhat in the better class races so not much to attack. One horse I do like at that venue though is as below, along with a selection from Doncaster also.

Back throughout the day tomorrow for Saturday’s quality action when Haydock also joins the party.

4:15 Sandown

SAVVY VICTORY – 3/4 Pt Win @ 12/1 boost William Hill, 11/1 generally drifting

This likeable 4 year old son New Bay finished in front of 3 of these at Royal Ascot and if you go back and look at the run he was badly hampered when trying to come from an impossible position on the day. He is a perfect 1 from 1 on the forecast Good to Soft ground (which I hope it remains with showers forecast) and a bit more wouldn’t harm as he goes well also with a lot of cut.

I like the booking of Tom Marquand to do the steering as his record aboard him reads 3,1,2! He could get done off a slow pace but he has himself gone from the front in the past so I though he was over-priced in this muddling affair IMO and worth chancing against a short priced favourite who looks a bit of a dodge pot to me.

4:05 Doncaster

NOMADIC EMPIRE – 1/2 Pt EW @ 13/2 4 places Skybet (Unibet also 4 but not priced up as yet), 15/2 3 places generally

This horse looks ready to win to me and would have been a very strong Win Only fancy having dropped to a very, very winnable mark of 88 but the O’Meara yard are woefully out of form which is a worry and he too has been coming up short so each way looks the play.

He is much better than these on his day and this smooth traveller’s C & D form figures (bar 1 run on unsuitable Heavy ground (still travelled well) read 2,2,4!

The refitting of a visor is also a major plus so I will roll the dice and hope he gets his trainer off the cold list.
