Below are the current horses to follow. Horses are removed when they win or after 3 runs.
ACTING LASS (2019-12-22) – Travelled very strongly and looked all over the winner Saturday but chinned late on. Will win a decent staying handicap chase on soft ground this season
ARTHURIAN FABLE (2020-06-22) – Ran a cracker despite a brutal trip/draw. The form is very strong IMO and he can win soon. – Jul23rd Won 3/1 (Paid 4.40 BFSP) off list
Ashington (2019-02-01) – Should have won Saturday no doubt! Can make amends shortly
ASSIMILATION (07Mar20) – Did us a nice turn Saturday, this progressive 4 year old looks one to follow this season where I can see him taking a big handicap.
BADENSCOTH (12Oct19) – Had had a very good 2019 season, and this improving 4yo made eye-catching headway from the rear LTO at York when it paid to race prominently so that effort can be upgraded. Likes soft ground, but was progressive on the All Weather last season and I feel he can pick up another handicap win in the coming months on either surface. Many of the stables horses are out of form so Saturday’s run was, IMO, most meritorious. One run since, when unplaced at Newmarket (01Nov19), so 2 more chances to make amends. Off list, lost 3 times
BARNTOWN (2019-12-15) – Conditions and distance didn’t play to this improver’s strengths at Cheltenham where it was nowhere near soft. He stayed on well and has a good 2m 4f handicap in him.
BARON BOLT (28Sep19) – Was well backed at Ripon but failed to show his true running. Not seen since and will be interesting when he returns to the track off a reduced mark of 92.
BERINGER (24Aug19) – Finished well back at York (12th of 14) after which the jockey reported that the horse had run flat and it wasn’t he true form. Came out at the back end of September in the Cambridgeshire Handicap at Newmarket and was only headed inside the final furlong (2nd 16/1). Two further chances and currently holds an entry for the Lincoln Handicap. Off list 3 losses, although placed at 16/1 on 1st run
BILLESDON BROOK (2020-06-22) – Looks and shapes as if better than ever to me, she was too keen when tipped due to a slow pace. Loves Newmarket and can add to her tally against her own sex this season. Off List 3 Losses
Date Saved – 2019-09-29 – Jun 29th’20 Won 11/4 (BFSP 3.95) off list
BLOWN BY WIND (07Mar20) – Played up at the start Saturday, lost all chance by starting slowly then racing keen off a wide trip. His win at the end of the last flat season was most taking and this good looking 4 year old can surely add to those gains in his next three runs if he calms down at the start! June 6th – Won 6/1 (BFSP 8.00) off list
BROAD STREET (2020-06-27) – Ran too bad to be true, something must have been amiss given his previous form against Bowerman. A mile on fast turf is what he wants.
Buildmeupbuttercup (2020-03-16) – cantered all the way through the County Hurdle and looked SURE to win but it is that last little bit that is finding her out. She WILL win on faster course AND take a big staying handicap on the FLAT also for the forthcoming turf campaign! – Aug20 – Won 8/13 (1.69 BFSP)
Caen Na Coille (2020-01-11) – Can prove to be well handicapped for a yard that knows how to get the best out of them – Mar 7th Won 7/1 (Paid 9.47 on the BFSP) off list
CAME FROM THE DARK (2020-09-11) – A sprinter to keep onside when the ground is soft.
CHAMPAGNE WELL (11Mar20) – Given a very poor ride IMO, will definitely take a nice handicap, possibly at Aintree if it goes ahead!
Candelisa (IRE) Jan 22 Won 6/1 (Paid 8.50 on the BFSP) off list
Date Saved – 2019-09-02
CAUSTIC LOVE (2020-06-15) – Ran well to finish 3rd considering her stable are woefully out of form. A decent fillies handicap, at 1 mile on softish ground is when to look out for her.
Clon Coulis (2019-10-19) – was compromised by the ground/run of the race LTO but look out for her, especially at Ascot, in the near future
CLONDAW CASTLE (2020-03-16) – Withdrawn due to ground conditions, will go well in chase handicaps at 2m 4f but needs goodish ground
CLUB WEXFORD (2020-08-23) – Not had any luck in running on his last two starts and was given a poor ride at Chester when travelling well. He is looking well handicapped again now and can take a 1 mile race in his next 3 runs
Cold Stare (2019-10-26) – Becoming very well handicapped now, has some strong handicap form to his name this year. Look out for him at the last Doncaster meeting, preferably over a strongly run 6 furlongs, which he didn’t get Friday, or maybe 7F. If not, as with Ice Lord, the Lincoln meeting next year at Donny is where to catch him. Off list 3 losses
COLFER ME (2020-06-27) – Another 4 year old to watch out for, probably back at 1 mile. Off list 3 losses
Date Saved – 2019-08-28
Concierge (2020-06-27) – Ran better than first looks Saturday back from a break. He challenged on th wrong side of the track and this 4 year old can win again – Aug 19th Won 17/2 (Paid 12.00 BFSP)
CRACKING SMART (11Mar20) – Ran a remarkable race when 4th in the Coral Cup after getting left by the standing start. Can take advantage in his next three runs.
Dali Mail (2019-11-16) – Another smooth traveller, this 6 year old is one to follow this season. Seemed to blow up late on Saturday suggesting the run was needed. The yard isn’t in great form and he is one to look out for on soft ground at a galloping track like Ayr. Won 8/1 (1st run, paid 9.80 BFSP)
DARK JEDI (2020-08-23) – Travelled well and just failed at York, the step up to 1mile 4furlongs seemed to bring about a bit more improvement and he can take a nice race this Autumn – 05Sept 2nd 22/1
DAWAAWEEN (2020-08-23) – This 4 year old filly travels smoothly and was narrowly denied LTO after looking the likely winner. A strongly run race over 7F/1M is what she wants and she can win again this year backend with cut in the ground
Dear Sir (2019-02-01) – Another smooth traveller, unfortunate to fall Saturday but showed enough after tanking through the race like a well handicapped horse I thought he was. – Won 9/1 (2nd run Jul12 paid 10.39 BFSP)
Deputy’s Oscar (2019-12-07) – Looked and travelled like the winner Saturday until getting tired late in the piece. Improver WILL win soon!
DEYRANN DE CARJAC (12Mar20) – Never got into contention after being hampered, look out for him on Spring, faster ground where he will go well!
DIOCLES OF ROME (2020-09-15) – was tipped and looked like winning when making a massive move from the rear but he found two 3 year old’s in front of him. A fast/strongly run 7 furlongs on good ground is what he wants IMO and he can win again soonest!
Eddiemaurice (2020-02-29) – Was given a shocking ride Friday given way too much to do but this 9 year old is nicely treated over fences based off his hurdles mark and can win a decent handicap I feel in the coming months.
ELERFAAN (2020-06-15) – Ran too bad to be true Saturday after being very well backed, a return to 7 furlongs round a bend can see him pick up a win in his next 3 runs.
Elvis Mail (2019-11-30) – Not seen to best effect Saturday given how the race was run. Travels like a class animal. Will almost CERTAINLY win in his next few outings. Jan 12th Won 11/8 (BFSP 2.54)
Endless Flight (2020-02-15) – Made good headway Saturday but far too quickly and too soon. Found the step up in trip in testing conditions against him but Will win again IMO when dropped to 2m 4f.
Exalted Angel (FR)
Date Saved – 2019-09-02 – March 13th – Won 8/1 (BFSP 10.40) off list
Fille De Reve
Date Saved – 2019-09-18
FITZROVIA (2020-07-28) – Gamble off the boards lto, never got a run and can make amends soon as – 03Sep Won 8/1 (paid 11.59 on BFSP)
FLASH THE STEEL (13Mar20) – Another given a very poor ride IMO in the very last race of the Festival. He had beat the winner, Indefatigable, senseless at Chepstow so remains very well handicapped and can surely take another decent race soon as!
Date Saved – 2019-09-29 – Jun15th Won 4/1 (BFSP 5.30) off list
Fransham (2020-01-11) – Another who under performed on the day, this 6 year old is much better than that and I am sure, when the ground improves, he can win again in his next three outings
Glen Shiel (2019-10-19) – shaped well on Saturday, soft ground is important to him so maybe one for early next season, possibly for a tilt at the LINCOLN. Has gone well on the All Weather as well so should be followed. – Jan 8th Won 4/1
Global Art (2019-12-15) – As with Merhoob, didn’t get the run of the race ut came home well. He likes Wolverhampton and Chelmsford so watch out for him and he can take a 1m 2f handicap this winter – Off List 3 losing runs
GULLIVER (2020-07-22) – Cruelly denied for us Saturday, he is still improving and can take a big handicap again this season. – off list 3 losses
HAMISH (2020-06-22 – Another 4 year old, given a poor ride at Ascot, can make amends soonest but wants softish ground.
HART STOPPER (07Mar20) – Was possibly not suited by the sharper track at Wolverhampton yesterday but did good late work at the finish. The form of his two runs prior to that were strong form so this horse looks following for the foreseeable with Turf racing no bother either. He has Doncaster form and shows his best form on straight tracks so maybe a race at the opening Lincoln meeting might be up his street.
HUMAN NATURE (07Mar20) – Unlucky on Saturday, loves Chelmsford and can add to his winning record there shortly. – June 10th – Won 9/2 (BFSP 6.96) off list
Ice Lord ( (2019-10-26) – Not getting any younger but still capable when granted the right ride/conditions which he didn’t get on Friday!! 6 furlongs on soft ground is what he thrives on so maybe one for Doncaster, a course he goes especially well at, early next season. – Off list 3 losses
Indeed (2019-10-13) – Back from an enforced break, this 4 year old is still improving and didn’t get the run of the race when tipped at Newmarket on Saturday but still ran well to finish 2nd. Any type of ground seems to suit, and his breeding suggests an All Weather listed campaign couldn’t be ruled out if connections so wish but with the turf season coming to an end, he will pay his way next term if not turning out again in the near future.
INVITATIONAL (2020-08-04) – Ran a good race considering she fly-lept and lost 5 lengths at the start! 7 furlongs is what she wants and she can win again.
JAMAIS ASSEZ (2020-06-15) Looked like he was coming to win a furlong out, moving up smoothly. I think the lack of a run/extra furlong found him out and he can win a nice handicap at 6 furlongs with cut in the ground.
Jan Matt (2020-03-15) – Unbelievable that he finished out of the places in the Grand Annual after jumping and travelling like a good, well handicapped horse. A bad mistake two out did for him but he can be followed to make amends, possibly at Punchestown.
JONAH JONES (2020-07-14) – Caught the eye again at Ascot, he was undone by the way the race unfolded. This 4 year old will definitely win this season! – off list 3 losses
Kimifive (2020-06-07) – Another eye-catcher. Finished on the bridle in a good Newmarket handicap Thursday, looks ready to strike! Have him in mind for a 7 furlong handicap at Goodwood, a course he likes. Off list 3 losses, although last run 2nd 11/1
KING OTTOKAR – (2020-09-15) – was cantering in the race but could never get a clear run. This strapping 4 year old can win a nice 1 mile handicap with cut in the ground before the season is out.
Kings Pavilion (IRE) ( 2019-08-28) – Won on 2nd run, off list +6.85pts
KRYPTOS (2020-07-28) – Another horse badly inconvenienced by soft ground. Was very well punted into 3-1 favourite in the overnight market, went off 14-1 in the end which told the story. Still well handicapped and look out for him at 1mile on better ground.
Last Empire (2019-10-13) – Ran too bad to be true on Saturday but is not the first, and certainly wont be the last, to be inconvenienced by the Newmarket undulations! A flat track on, most importantly her favoured soft ground, is what this improving filly wants so watch out for her when encountered said conditions. Can easily be forgiven the latest effort and also promises much more to come as a 4 year old. Off list 3 losses
LAVENDERS BLUE (2020-06-22) – Cantered through the race, another horse that the conditions went against. 1 mile on fast ground is what she wants and she will win soonest! Off list 3 losses
LUNAR JET (2020-09-03) – A horse I like who has done us some turns, caught the eye from an uncompromising position at Newmarket. Dropped to a good mark can take advantage on softish ground soon!
Date Saved – 2019-08-28 – Off list 3 losses
Mack The Man (2020-02-08) – Mack The Man was cantering when brought down and, given what I said about how well handicapped he undoubtedly is, the Imperial Cup/County Hurdle double must be on the agenda with the bonus a real carrot and I can see him doing it with a bit of luck so look out for the ante-post prices, especially the Imperial Cup at Sandown, a course and distance he has already bolted up at!
MADAME TANTZY (2020-06-15) – Got caught up in a pace burn up Saturday, did well to hang on to a place in the circumstances. Can win something similar this season – Off list 3 losses
MAHALE – Cantered through the race, found the extra furlong in the soft ground too much. Looks a decent horse, can be followed. – off list 3 losses
Marracudja (2019-10-26) – Given a ridiculous ride Saturday, he too is well handicapped. Needs better ground but the way he travelled suggests he is ready to win in the near future. Dec-27 Won 6/1 (BFSP 8.34)
MARRIONNER (2020-08-23) – Lost lengths at the start at Sandown then got into all sorts of trouble before coming home strongly but snatched up late. This 4 year old can win shortly
Martineo – Was most unlucky at Yarmouth on Wednesday, looks on a good mark and should take advantage in the coming weeks. Off list Won 2/1 (Paid 3.35 BFSP)
Massa Lubrense (2019-10-19) – Not seen to best effect this weekend, this improving horse still remains one to keep on side. Has won very well on the All Weather so is versatile as regards going/surface and is definitely one to be interested in on his next three runs!
Merhoob (2019-12-15) – Although 7, he was not seen to best effect in a slowly run race from the inside berth. He is on a good mark and can take one of these type of races in the next three outings. Jan 17th Won 5/2 (BFSP 3.70)
Midnight Tune (2020-01-18) – Got took on for the lead at Haydock, will surely bounce back when the right tactics are adopted. Feb 21st Won 7/4 (BFSP 2.94)
Milkwood (2019-12-07) – Travels like a class animal, ran into a decent sort at Wincanton but he will gain compensation in the near future!
MILLTOWN STAR (2020-09-03) – Travelled as well as anything at Goodwood he came with a winning looking run two out but the lack of a run told late in the piece IMO. Can make hay this backend on his favoured soft surface!
Moll Davis (2020-06-07) – A filly I have tipped a few times and a horse I really like. This 4 year old filly is one to follow this year, especially when she gets her favoured soft ground. Ran a very eye-catching race at Newcastle on her return, should resume winning ways soon!
Date Saved – 2019-08-28
Mr Pumblechook (2019-11-30) – Moved very well yesterday, a win is almost certainly on the agenda in his next three runs
NATIONAL LEAGUE (2020-09-15) – Keeps getting unlucky in the run but surely he can take a race in his next three as he is handicapped to strike.
Nelson River (2020-02-08) – Things didn’t go to plan in the Betfair hurdle but should be followed on the next three outings as I can see going well in the big Spring handicap hurdles on better ground.
Neverbeen To Paris (2019-10-26) – Travelled like a well handicapped horse Saturday, ground conditions would NOT have been to his liking. Watch out for him in the next three runs when he hopefully encounters much better ground and he can win a nice handicap this season from a very workable handicap mark. Off List 3 losses
OCEAN WIND (11Mar20) – A horse I love, found the ground conditions against him in the Champion Bumper yet STILL acquitted himself well. Hopefully Aintree will be quicker conditions but if not, he WILL win in his next three AND take a nice flat race as well. Definitely a horse to keep onside for ALL this season! – Off list Won 11/8 (2.70 BFSP)
OUZO (2020-08-23) – This 4 year old ran well to be 5th in a very, very hot handicap when tapped at York. Possibly just needed the outing after being gelded, this 4 year old remains on the up and can pay us back soonest!
Papagana (2019-12-22) – Compromised by the way the race was run IMO on Saturday, this improving mare is one for a good decent graded race, possibly back against mares at Cheltenham or Aintree.
Ptarmigan Ridge (2019-10-26) – Although a non runner given the abandonment of Doncaster, this horse needs to be followed. Soft ground over 7 furlongs is his bag but he also goes very well at Kempton so he can take a nice handicap in the next three runs I feel, especially with the useful 7lb claimer Angus Villiers doing the steering.
Present Value (2019-11-10) – Floated across the ground but was never going to catch the front running winner Saturday. Looks sure to win a decent race this season
Protektorat (2019-12-07) – Given too much to do in testing ground at Sandown, this horse is on a good handicap mark and will prove much better than a handicapper at some stage – Jan 1st Won 15/2 (Disq but then on appeal reinstated)
Proud Archi (IRE)
Date Saved – 2019-08-28 – Off list 3 losses
Quoi De Neuf (2020-02-08) – Things didn’t go to plan in the Betfair hurdle but should be followed on next three outings as I can see going well in the big Spring handicap hurdles on better ground.
RATHBONE (2020-09-11) – 1st time wind op nearly did the trick for this horse LTO, dual purpose performer can surely pick up a race in hiss next 3!
RAYONG – Made a massive move against the track bias, another horse that can be followed off list Won 11/8 (BFSP 2.42)
Regarding Ruth (2019-12-15) – Again, conditions were not to suit but this mare will win again. Made nice headway around the field before lacking a change of gear she can take advantage of lesser assignments.
Rosy World (2019-11-10) – Prominent/front running tactics didn’t play to this strapping mares strengths Saturday. Looks well handicapped and can reward the faith in the coming months.
Sams Adventure (2020-01-18) – Sent off favourite for the big handicap chase at Ascot, never went a yard. This 8 year old must be kept onside for the remainder of the season. Mar14 1420 Utt – Won 6/1 (8.20) off list
Date Saved – 2019-08-28
She Can Boogie (2019-10-19) – Still well handicapped, nothing went to plan on Saturday. Promises to win a nice handicap, probably next season at Chester or a similar sharp track and has much more to come as a 4 year old – Off List 3 losses
SILENT ECHO – Still looks well handicapped, can pick up another race in his next 3. – Off list 3 losses
SINAWANN (2020-09-15) – Most unlucky when tipped on Saturday, this smooth traveller looks a winner in waiting and can repay us soon as.
SIR BUSKER (2020-08-04) – Most unlucky in the big one mile handicap, still looks well treated on that evidence and can pick up a big handicap this year I feel.
Date Saved – 2019-09-23 – Off list 3 losses
Spirit Warning (2020-02-08) – A 4 year old I really like, ran a pleasing race on his seasonal debut and his shrewd connections must be teeing him up for the Lincoln at Doncaster next month. – Off List – 3 losses
Stonific (2020-02-29) – Bolted up for us Saturday, he can surely add to his tally now the penny has dropped. He loves Doncaster and he did us a turn early last flat season on the Town Moor so look out for this useful dual purpose horse, especially if turning up on Turf Moor! July 17th Won 3/1 – off list
Street Parade (2020-06-07) – A 4 year old sprinter to follow this season, things didn’t pan out for him at Newmarket where he was held up which was NOT the place to be! Can pick up a decent pot in his next 3 runs on good to firm ground.
SUCELLUS (2020-07-22) – Another selection to suffer a poor passage, look out for him over 1M 2F – off list 3 runs including 06Sept 3rd 12/1
Sucellus (added back 2020-09-15) – Ready to strike soon as
SUNSET SHOWDOWN (12Mar20) – Travelled too well if anything, can take a nice handicap in the coming months for a stable that know how to train similar types having taken the Stayers Hurdle with a progressive handicapper!
Tight Call (2020-01-11) – ran too bad to be true. There is something amiss with him at the moment, perhaps the breathing is the issue who knows but he is a very well handicapped horse and WILL pay us back further down the line. Off List Won 7/2 (Paid 5.80 BFSP)
TINANDALI (2020-07-22) – Didn’t enjoy a clear passage in the ‘John Smith’s Cup’ nearest the rail and once out flew home for 5th. Has a decent handicap in him this year and will pay us back I’m sure!
Tinto (2019-11-16) – An improving horse, the best is yet to come and he can make a cracking 4 year old when he will have all the major 6 furlong handicaps on his agenda. – June 5th – Won 40/1 (BFSP 55.00) off list
Top Breeze (2020-02-29) – A 4 year old going places! Will win a decent flat turf handicap this season so keep on side. He likes Newmarket so possibly the May meeting there. Off list 3 losses
TRIGGERED (2020-07-22) – I fancied this horse at York Saturday and he too didn’t get the rub of the green, running on nicely towards the finish. A stiff 6 furlongs is what he wants.
Typhoon Ten (2020-01-11) – The drop back to 6 furlongs, given the way the race was run, did not suit and this 4 year old can add to his tally when returned to 7 furlongs – Off list 3 losses
Velma Valento (2019-11-16) – Smooth travelling French four year old, didn’t get the run of the race Saturday when trapped on heels. Will definitely pay her way and a tilt at finals day looks the plan for her shrewd trainer who has a great record when raiding these shores
WAR DEFENDER (2020-07-14) – Narrowly denied at Newcastle, should be up to taking a 1 mile handicap soonest. – Off List 3 losses
Whoshotthesherriff (2019-12-22) – Another very smooth traveller, floated over the unsuitable ground at Ascot before not finishing his race out due to the surface. He will take a big handicap hurdle this season but needs better ground to achieve it.
WOVEN (2020-06-22) Ran a cracker from a poor draw Saturday, WILL win a decent handicap this season IMO! – Off list 3 losses but placed at 12/1 on last run
