Morning folks
I hadn’t planned on doing this but it’s disappointing that Musselburgh has been abandoned, I really fancied our selections there but that’s the past 12 months weather, it’s been non-stop rain.
With that, Haydock would usually be bottomless but to my and no doubt yor amazement, the hurdle corse has dried back to soft, good to soft places which is unbelievable and with the 2miles being sharp, on that sort of ground it may hinder El Jefe’s chance so I have gone in again in my type of race as I see value taking on the head of the market and two further bets are below. Nothing further for today
2:05 Hayock
BALLYGEARY– 1 Pt Win @ 9/1 Will Hill, 8/1 B.O.G generally
HOLLY – 1/2 Pt EW 33/1 3 places generally
I tipped Ballygeary LTO if you recall in a much better race than this, Brian Hughes gave him a shocker in that and he shaped much, much better than the result suggests. He has been dropped a generous looking 1lb for that and a useful conditional takes a further 3lbs off which makes him attractively weighted here with this faster track sure to suit. Holly is very in and out but the key may be the better ground/faster track. We saw when she bolted up on a similarly speed track at Musselburgh, she bolted up, beating several subsequent winners so, although it is speculative, the price was worth seeing if she can bounce back.
