One Further Tip, Friday 17th May 2024

Evening folks

One further bet for Friday is below, along with the ones already sent and their write ups. Nothing further, back throughout the day tomorrow for Saturday’s cracking action.

2:30 Newbury

SWEET REWARD – 1/2 Pt EW @ 16/1 Paddy & Betfrsprtbk 4 places, 14/1 4 places generally

Loves this C & D (narrowly beaten in this last year by Mustazeed and a bit worse off), he might be a bit high in the weights against the 4 year old’s but again this smooth traveller should go well for a jockey who rides this track brilliantly, was aboard for that narrow defeat, and his only other time aboard him was a win.

4:45 York

TROPEZ POWER – 1.25Pt EW @ 12/1 boost Hills 5 places, 11/1 5 with them anyway, 10/1 places generally

This supremely strong, smooth traveller regained the winning thread LTO on the AW at Southwell, comfortably beating Eldrickjones (favourite for this and being backed) who subsequently bolted in by 4 lengths next time out so that looks strong form for the grade. That was off level weights with that horse and Tropez Power now gets 9lbs today!! The time was over a second quicker than last years winner of this, Elligible, who I did look at, but Tropez Power is much the better animal. He has yet to win on turf but has run some crackers in defeat and gets to run off a 6lb lower mark back on grass which looks significant. He has run very well here before so this big field, decent paced race should suit admirably and well drawn, surely runs a big race all being said.

2:15 York

MISS LAMAI – 1/2 Pt EW @ 14/1 boost Will Hill 5 places, 12/1 5 places, 12/1 4 places generally

Clocked a very fast time when bolting up on debut at Thirsk, very strong at the finish also. Normal improvement see her step forward here and run a big race.

2:30 Newbury

HIGH FIBRE – 1/2 Pt EW @ 20/1 Paddy & Betfrsprtbk 4 places, 16/1 4 places generally

Harry Fry doesn’t run many on the level but when he does they go well, Spencer is an eye-catching booking and rides this course well. He finished in front of Israr by 2 lengths last season as a 3 year old with that horse now rated 114 so off just 85 here, if he’s not too keen back from another break (Spencer a good booking for such types & the big field should also help) he is massively well handicapped and can go well if ready to roll.

2:45 York

ANDALEEP – 3/4 Pt EW @ 18/1 boost Lads 5 places, 16/1 5 places generally

Very much improving as he gets older, he is in the form of his life at the moment. Bolted up over C & D last season albeit in a lower class but he was most impressive and yet is only 5lbs higher here. This is a better race but the booking of Buick suggests a big run is on the cards. In ALL aged handicaps, the combo are 3 from 8, 6 placers which includes a perfect 1 from 1 on the Knavesmire (came over C & D in a class 2 on Astro King, another improver for this up and coming yard) Hopefully they go a good clip, something we haven’t really seen all week to be honest thus far but Buick is in superb form and a top drawer jockey so hopefully he gets the tactics right and if so doing this horse goes very well indeed.

3:45 York

GIAVELLOTTO – 3/4 Pt EW @ 7/1 3 places generally

Last years winner, loves this track and has been running some massive races abroad against short favourite Tower Of London giving him weight. They go off levels today and with a lot of O’Brien’s horses often blowing out at this meeting/track, IMO, he looks a cracking EW bet with the 3 places readily available.
