Good Morning folks

A quieter Saturday than normal so nothing further for today. So very well backed selections we are due one of those doing the business for us!

Full list with reasoning attached below

1:30 Beverley

TANGLED– 3/4 Pt Each way @ 12/1 4 places Bet365 (ITV Racing offer Free bet also), 10/1 4 places generally

Tangled could prove a value bet in the opening Joe Rowntree Memorial Handicap.

The seven-year-old, who wears a visor for the first time, went close to winning over an extended mile at Beverley in June under a big weight and boasts a decent record at the track over this seven-and-a-half furlongs trip.

Now 6lb below his last winning mark, it is interesting to note that Tangled has run well in the past for a change of headgear and, while a wide draw is never ideal here, he is best coming from behind and is bound to be dropped in by Kevin Stott.

Importantly, there should be plenty of pace courtesy of Outrun The Storm and Antagonize which could set things up for a late challenge up the hill.

2:25 Goodwood

THE TURPINATOR– 3/4 Pt Each way @ 14/1 4 places Bet365 (ITV Racing offer Free bet also) & generally

Very much caught the eye in the Golden Mile a the Glorious, travelling well before being denied a clear run and a chance at going close when starting to motor. His previous run was a very smooth win over C & D, beating The Attorney (franked the form twice since) quite cosily. Nicely drawn, the son of Canford Cliffs has inherited his sire’s love for this track and although unproven on very testing ground, looked over-priced and well worth chancing.

2:40 Beverley

AINSDALE– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 16/1 5 places Bet365 12/1 5 & 4 places generally

There is a very good chance that AINSDALE may get to the rail from the plum draw in stall 1.

He is a smart sprinter at his best – he was only beaten a neck in the Temple Stakes last season – and he made an encouraging start for Julie Camacho in the Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle in June.

That was over six furlongs and he was beaten seven lengths, but he left the impression he would come forward for that outing, and the winner is a most exciting type.

Ainsdale has been ridden prominently in the past and with no pace to the outside of him, surely connections will attempt to go forward back at the minimum trip at a track where it often favours those who race close to the pace over sprint distances. At a double-figure price he looks a good bet on his favoured softish ground.

3:45 Beverley

IDOAPOLOGISE– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 19/2 4 places Bet365, 10 3 places, 8/1 generally

Loves this track and looks very interesting dropped to the minimum trip. Travels very strongly so if not inconvenienced by the draw, should be doing his best work late on hopefully to land the spoils.

4:15 Curragh

CELTIC CROWN– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 18/1 Bet365 6 places,16/1 7 places generally

Long-priced C&D winner in May, beating No More Porter and 25 other rivals; only 4lb higher and deserves to go on the shortlist on the assumption her handicap mark has been preserved for this bid.

QUOTE

Joe Murphy, trainer: “She was brilliant on her last start at the Curragh and the reason she hasn’t run since is because we’re waiting for an ease in the ground. Fingers crossed they have the ground as good, rather than good to firm. We’re hoping for a big run.

NO MORE PORTER– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 28/1 Bet365 6 places, 25/1 7 places generally

Best run this season when second to today’s rival Celtic Crown in a 27-runner C&D handicap in May; boasts a good record at this track, two wins and two places from five visits; finished behind several of these at Galway

5:40 Cartmel

VOCAL DUKE– 1/2 Pt Each way @ 14/1 4 places generally

All three stable starts over C&D, winning the first in very taking fashion. Found himself with far too much ground to make up when badly hampered by a faller at the 1st flight before finishing strongly into fourth behind Snookered last month. Charlotte Jones rides and no surprise to see him go very well for a yard that has 4 of the last 6 running’s!
