A cracking weekend, a tremendous winner with Pyramid Place. Good ride and after the last I knew he would outstay the Nicholls runner.
Two badly major disappointments for me though were Titian and Embrace!
ALL our selections are well punted (excellent sign for long term value and profit for us!!) but Titian ran too bad too be true. Every man and his dog eventually tipped it after I had and I generally hate those types. He comes alive on that ground and this time of year and won the last race last year. Head scratcher but still.
The clerk of he course wants another job IMO at Newmarket. No way was that bad ground and Embrace needed it softer, although the drop to sprinting on that undulating course counted against her also. She was massively punted and we were on at a great price but she was never comfortable (usually tanks through her races) but literally took off up the hill and finished well, full of running. She is the sort (will be a 4 year old) I like with next season in mind and she WILL pay us back.
Some decent racing today and with a big haul of points I will go with one as below and then next be back on Friday (low key week again) with selections throughout the day for the no doubt usually busy Saturday.
P.S I was toying with El Muchacho (3:25 Ffos Las) for connections that did us a big turn yesterday. Handy weight and will like the ground, not sure he is up to the class of some of them in this but will like the ground. Trainer also states he is stuffy so reluctantly passed over at a tip but a nod to you loyal customers who may want a little play at 14’s which is fair.

Loves Goodwood, has won the last 2 running’s of this race and gets on well with Probert. Looks sure to give a good account on ground he relishes
