Morning folks
A yo-yo period at the minute, we are being badly undone by draws at the moment which makes racing so tough. On Friday at both Ascot and Haydock they raced far side then it totally switched on the Saturday on a whim as the jockey’s decided! How can you foresee that. York yesterday it was clear where our horses challenged stands side was obviously the slowest part of the track as ALL winners came down the centre.
For what feels like the hundredth time, we had 3 massively punted/superb value horses that yet again failed to deliver! I don’t know if I have run over a black cat or something but basic probability is certain that a handful should win but they aren’t!! I have considered laying the initial stake off but that’s not my bag really.
We profited from Big Mojo yes, but the other 4 drawn low had no chance and drifted in the betting accordingly. The luck thing, as with Big Bertie when his hood blinded him when was the last time you saw a horse pull up in a 1 mile flat race??
Also the amount of guesswork favourites, especially the 3 year olds, that are winning these big handicaps is unreal but that’s where we are at.
No damage done but after Big Mojo I was badly disappointed with the rest of the day so we move on.
It is the 3 Day Doncaster St Leger meeting commencing Thursday so I will be back Wednesday, probably afternoon onwards due to prices, with any, if I can find them, selections for the Thursday but will update either way.
A footnote is that it is my 50th birthday on Friday and there will be selections (if I unearth any) for that day as I will send the day before as per usual but I am away that weekend obviously so just a heads up Saturday’s selections, if any, will probably be sparse. I will try to get a heads up on the Thursday and will try to get a few out Saturday morning if I can but will send an update either way.
