The Week Ahead

Morning folks

A good weekend, should have been a massive one with near +50 points extra with that bit of luck you need!!

Woven, Naina & Tarkhan ALL could have won and I know I shouldn’t, but I have never considered myself to be lucky, football career being just one luckless event, and EVERYONE, even the best, needs that bit, like right place right time etc and I often wonder why those short heads don’t go our way? The amount of seconds I get are ridiculous, just as tough to find those as the winner if you tried and the win makes all the difference.

Racing is getting tougher also. I looked at The Bronze Cup on Friday and JUST 7lb covered the 25 runners! suggesting the horses are much of a much and within each others ability range making it ‘anybody’s’ I guess on the day. Long gone are the days when the bottom weights carrying 7st 12lb had a chance but that’s the way it is. Never before (even Group 1 winners like Halling didn’t do it!) have prestigious handicaps gone to top weights but that’s the times and we move on.

Speaking of the above, Thursday sees the start of the 3 day Newmarket ‘Cambridgeshire’ meeting which culminates with the big Cambridgeshire handicap on the Saturday so with that being said, I shall be back Wednesday, probably lunchtime onwards due to pricing etc, with any selections I may find if I can but will update either way.
