The Week Ahead

Morning folks

A tough day but not much dropped in the end. It was a strange, very hectic Saturday. Not much doing at Ayr, I used to love that meeting but as we have seen not as good as meetings of this ilk back in the day.

Manila Scouse ran a cracker, I thought he was the winner all the way, possibly the high draw was the difference. Equina Springs ran well but not clear run and I thought Embrace was going to bolt up! That’s racing but the massive disappointment for me was Golspie!! That horse has NEVER made the running in his life, and coming from behind which was the way they were winning I expected was ridiculous. He raced very freely and predictably was a spent force 2 from home.

The amount of favourites winning these big handicaps must be a bit of an outlier or not?

I think the late money very much talks nowadays with restrictions and affordability checks on accounts. The Exchange is where the action and big bets are and I can only seeing it get worse/more accurate?

On we go and we started the month brilliantly. It is Newmarket’s 3 day Cambridgeshire meeting commencing Thursday. I shall have the usual in depth look and mail out any selections I find or update accordingly if I cannot, late afternoon/early evening Wednesday.
