Morning folks
It was a frustrating, irritating day yesterday watching the racing for me and the BHB definitely need to get this race and fixture planning right, for the sake of our great game!
Wincanton I find tough for some reason, cannot fathom it out, but the guess at the handicap chaser didn’t work out and Don’t Rightly Know ran a strange race. 7 runners I thought she was a bet to nothing EW (so it proved) and maybe should have gone that way with a few books paying the 3 places. I looked at Daany as well but I thought he would be held up running on. Well tactics changed (who knew bar connections!) and he pressed the leader.
I wanted to limit outlay but I must say thought we were on another definite big priced winner. Plantadream cantered and looked the winner all the way to my eyes. He got a nice gap and came with what looked the winning run (bet you thought the same) only to not place in the end which was remarkable IMO and very disappointing. That would have returned our outlay but no damage done. We are well in front for the month after Scots Poet so on we go.
I did look at today’s racing from Plumpton with Naas very much in the balance but I couldn’t find anything strong and I am trying to stay away from distance chases on very bad ground.
Run of the race is massive in them and it was a toss up between Dom Of Mary and Gold Clermont for what it’s worth in the Sussex National. Didn’t know how to play them but I think both will go well so may have a small couple of EW bets on both given the 4 places on offer and 6’s the pair.
The week ahead is average fare so I will be back as usual throughout the day Friday for Saturdays action where we have Kempton, Warwick & Wetherby on the menu.
