The Week Ahead

Morning folks

A tough month and period, as I have said many times before and years of experience teaches, crossover of disciplines in October & November are very tough months.

A couple of placers limited the blows but I have not been happy, especially what I am seeing. It’s like groundhog day every race and no doubt you’ll agree but what the hell is going on with the racing, it’s ridiculous?? It is nigh on impossible, even for class horse with good form, to make ANY ground up. Nearly ALL races everywhere yesterday were won by the front runners and I guess you could say go with them but that’s a mind lowing feat in itself and goes against the grain of level playing field and form/skill.

Something is drastically wrong and I am hoping it’s this freakish year weather wise and it is what it is I guess, some unfathomable results/action but we move on.

I had a good look at the Aintree card which has badly cut up (ridiculous isn’t good on jumps yet bottomless on flat???) but it would be mainly guesswork and the ones I half fancied have been well found in the market.

For interest and not strong enough to tip but I half liked Hurricane Ali (Aintree 3:35) He’s the complete rag and maybe at his age not up to this level off his current mark. The trainer does well here (3 winners from his last 6) which is 2 from 2 with his daughter riding so I may have a small wager.

This weeks action is a watching brief as we build up the jumps form so I will back, as usual, next Friday throughout the day for Saturday’s action.
