The Week Ahead

Afternoon folks

I ended up feeling disappointed yesterday in the end in spite of the small profit/break even day. Many years have taught me to get a good feel and I knew it was a tough, tricky day so to come out unscathed I was happy with.

Having said that, yet again, with that little bit of luck it could have been a massive day with 3 seconds & a 3rd. I thought Blue Hop was the winner from the off and where Samuel Spade (tipped before) came from to stay the 3 miles was beyond me. Then we had two monster gambles (good at spotting excellent value chances) but it is it just me? I cannot recall us having any luck in us collecting from these massive moves and the win makes ALL the difference. Apple Away never looked happy or like winning but I thought Monks Dream was home and hosed. They ran well though, as did Classic King who got a poor ride IMO.

Jockey’s are not the cleverest and horse racing is super, super tough so I guess asking them to get horses into the perfect positions we would like is an ask to say the least.

Still, on we go and this week sees the usual mundane, low grade racing. The weekend quality/number of runners will inevitably suffer also as we hurtle towards the Festival!

I shall try my best though and will be back next, as usual, throughout the day Friday with selections for Saturday’s action.
