Morning folks
A break evenish very frustrating sort of day yesterday, Sir Les doing the business and getting a great, proper ride! Something that cannot be said for many of ours. This game is super, incredibly tough at the best of times, so many uncontrollables but I am sick to death (and no doubt you) of seeing our horses in ridiculous positions they CANNOT win from! We are sitting on well researched, form horses where we ALWAYS nearly beat the price!
I had the form line right with Hardy Du Seuil (Windsor race with three of them massively reversing the form) yet the inexperienced rider somehow thought it best to gun him up from the start, 4 wide to boot disputing the pace, tactics NEVER used on him before. Predictably he weakened and the poor horse was never given a chance. Gordon couldn’t ride Zoffandia, ripping his head. Granted it was a funereal pace but no chance from the off after setting him alight from the stall and the worst was saved till last. Civil Law, gambled was given a shocker so the less said the better!! I hate making excuses, and it wasn’t a disaster day (Java Point unlucky I thought also) but it’s plain to see and hurts me more than most.
Still, on we go and there is a cracking week ahead with 4 cracking days at Cheltenham. Tremendous racing, so this week will be treated as a FESTIVAL with the following applying………..
“These bets are kept separate from the main account and I will be personally throwing targeted darts at a few biggies, sometimes in races I wouldn’t normally!
I will be backing them to according stakes and I always put aside a 50 point x £30 stake bank for such meetings (use what’s comfortable for you if you so wish), knowing full well I could lose the lot which is most definitely NOT the plan!!
That’s an average of 12.5 points per day over the 4 days.
We have nailed some superb gains in the past at these unique meetings so lets hope we can continue that trend with some nice winners.
The results will NOT be recorded against the main account in order not to damage that in a worst case scenario which can happen (hopefully not!) and with the volume of study the write up’s will be at a minimum.
So it makes sense to do that to my mind and that is what I do with my own money that I have saved and put to one side willing to lose it as with Royal Ascot/Aintree/Goodwood/Doncaster/York/Newmarket’s etc and other meetings of this ilk so:-
Selections for Tuesday through to Friday will be sent out the evening before their designated assignments, NO later than 7:30PM so with that I will be back throughout the day tomorrow with any Day 1 selections. There are a lot of very short priced favourites and short runner races, horses I normally go against the grain with and take on but they look strong at the present so this Festival may have a different feel to normal but I will try my best and see what I can unearth. Hopefully another 50-1 winner as in the past many times would be nice 🙂
