The Weekly Review

Morning folks

We sneaked our noses in front at the end of 4 in and out days but what a day yesterday could have been for us with any rub of the green/missing luck??

3 big priced 2nds, along with Breege would have made for a monster day had they gone our way but it’s ultra, ultra tough racing. That was the tale of the meeting for us with unlucky in the run and other big priced horses such as Apiarist and Bint Al Daar and as I have said a thousand times the winning part of the bets makes the huge difference.

Now onto the management of the track. I was totally disgusted to hear, not only Hollie Doyle say what she did about the strip of ground out of the stalls, but what the course manager said about the watering. Due to the ‘Wind’ the water got blown across to the far side of the track therefore rendering ANY horses chance on that side.

The middle to high drawn horses SHOULD have stayed at home then they may learn. They simply had no chance whatsoever. This is a flagship meeting at one of greatest courses could they not try to adjust things?

You could say use the draw to select but I pick FORM, not draw, so it rendered a lot of the races as equine bingo. Which one of the low draws gets the advantage/run through etc.

Then we hear that the wind direction had changed to a headwind which counter acted the front running bias. As a tipster this is impossible to factor in the night before and the weather is playing a significant part in racing these days as I think you’d agree.

It doesn’t take a blind man to see these things and as avid followers, you can see/tell for yourselves. I simply did not enjoy this meeting when I usually love it and have done massively well at in the past.

Anyway those are my thoughts so we move on to next weekend when I will be back Friday throughout the day with selections for Saturday.
