The best was saved until last with Elegant Erin who won nicely and covered our weekend up to this point. I couldn’t believe the price so I went in again:) I hope that many of you may have done the same or got Best Odds Guaranteed as lots of firms are reintroducing the offer for some reason including 888Sport.
My strong fancies at Cheltenham I cocked the staking up on them so my bad and that’s always a tricky conundrum given I try to limit the outlay best I can.
I cannot quite believe how many short priced favourites are winning these competitive handicap’s? Any man and his dog can pick them and as a tipster, 6/5 favs are not my bag, possibly looking even more foolish if they get turned over, and plenty plenty will when the weather turns guaranteed so whenever that scenario plays out with short fields etc it counts against us, my principles and approach.
I have had a further look at all the cards today and there is nothing more from Cheltenham. The few I did like, Primoz, Hymac & Fortune De Mer have been well found/backed and they are tougher races than 1st seemed.
Two races I do like though are over at Navan and selections in both those races are below.
I will be back next Thursday afternoon onwards as there is a nice Ascot card on Friday to look at but at this stage it’s too far out to know how the weather will pan out and how the fields hold up.

MR MACPHISTO– 3/4 Pt E.W @ 14/1 6 places generally
Likes the yielding ground and just slightly above his last winning mark, which came over C & D in a handicap hurdle of this nature. Front runners/prominent racers, like Mr Macphisto is, made hay at this track watching the action yesterday and the trainer/jockey combo are 3 winners from their last 6 together in hurdle races, which included 2 from the last 2 so in a tough, big field race, I thought there was enough to chance and I can see him going very well.

ASK ANYTHING– 1/2 Pt Win @ 18/1 AKBets, 16/1 generally
Both young chasers at the right end of the weights who have big handicap’s in them this season IMO.
