Hi folks
As I said this morning, it’s not ideal having to pick on the AW but it looks as if that’s probably the only action we are likely to see so I wasn’t left much choice for us. With saying that, another couple on that card are below, along with the ones already sent and their write up. Nothing further for Saturday.

KNEBWORTH – 1.25 Pt Win @ 5/1 Will Hill, 9/2 generally
The Wolverhampton handicap won by Ferrous with our fellow 2nd has turned out to be very strong, hot form. Indeed it was franked by Knebworth at Donny LTO. An improving 4 year old, the Richard Hughes yard is on fire and I can see a massive run from this horse from a cracking draw for this track. I did also like Ferrous but he tends to pull hard and is drawn wide so could spoil his chances and should be one for another day. There were lots more positives with Knebworth so he’s the confident selection.

BOADICIA – 1/2 Pt EW 25/1 Skybet 4 places, 25/1 generally
Very much caught the eye on debut at Wolverhampton, a track that wouldn’t necessarily suit, travelling strongly in mid division but trapped on the rail. She was waiting to unleash a strong finish and had to wait nearly two furlongs to do so then still ran into traffic problems entering the final furlong. She finished full of running and certainly shaped with massive improvement to come. The trainer does well here (also runs Harry Did who is worth a 2nd look, may need further/stiffer track) so I felt this speedily bred daughter of Holy Roman Emperor could go very well at a decent price from a good looking draw.

ENOLA GREY – 1/2 Pt EW 22/1 boosts Will Hill & Lads 20/1 generally
Has a bit to find on the ratings (rated 84) but Many Tears managed it LTO (from a mark of just 78!) and this 4 year old is rapidly improving, also holding a fitness edge which could prove significant. A strong, smooth traveller, she is well berthed to be buried away, tracking the pace before unleashing a turn of foot and hopefully her trademark long strong winning run.

YOUTHFUL KING – 1.25 Pt EW 14/1 4 places generally
Tipped LTO, he was undone again by his draw in the car park but his last two runs have been amongst his best. He has run two remarkable races at Lingfield, being held up last then running on very strongly to be nearest at the finish. The course should suit much better with the long straight and the only time he has run over this 1m 3f trip in a handicap he bolted up at Windsor by 3 lengths in a Class 2. I’ am unsure how they will ride him as I like prominent racers at this track but he is very adaptable regards tactics so at a value price I thought he could go very close at his best.

CIRCUIT BREAKER – 3/4 Pt Win @ 10/1 generally
The Jonjo O’Neill trained son of Nathaniel has presumably been bought (for 260,000 guineas) with jumps in mind but is sticking to the Flat for now and looked on a steep upward curve when last seen in September. He’s 1-1 on the all-weather, having won very well over this course and distance, and this lightly raced strapping 4 year old looks potentially very well handicapped IMO. It is first time out so I went win only reluctantly instead of each way.
