Good afternoon folks
A couple of further selections are below, along with the ones already sent. Will be really gruelling at Donny so win only plays there, not a day to go mad with early jumps/flat crossover but the two horses tipped should relish the terrain.
P.S Look Back Smiling is in the 4:58 at Doncaster but he will have no chance if he blows the start, like he did last time for us so passed over reluctantly, especially at 8’s. Nothing further for Saturday.
3:50 Doncaster
BUCEPHALUS – 3/4 Pt Win @ 8/1 generally
4:25 Doncaster
RACINGBREAKS RYDER – 3/4Pt Win @ 10/1 Bet365, 15/2 generally
2:45 Doncaster
BOARDROOM – 1/4 Pt EW 100/1 boost William Hill, 80/1 &, 66/1 3 places generally
A self cert non runner for us when tipped at York, I have to chance her to small stakes here given the trainer is going exceptionally well and she is bred to relish conditions.
1:15 Cheltenham
BEFORE MIDNIGHT – 3/4 Pt EW 15/2 888Sport, 6/1 4 places generally
Not hard to see the trainer has got this lad ready for this meeting, one he excels at. This horse is seriously well treated and took this very race in 2021. Claiming jockeys have done well in this and this trainer/pilot pair are 4 winners/6 placers from 7 runners ALL Time see I see him running a big race in this.
Fergal O’Brien when fourth over hurdles at Chepstow a fortnight ago.
“I was very impressed with him at Chepstow – I didn’t expect him to run as well as he did,” said O’Brien. “He does have form on soft and heavy ground from a long time ago, but I expected him to need it a bit, maybe finish fifth or sixth and come on for the run, but he was actually bang there turning in.
“He probably ended up having a harder race than we hoped for, but he’s come out of that very well, he seems very well in himself and Ben Sutton came in and schooled him on Thursday morning and he jumped very well, so we’ll take our chance.”
3:00 Cheltenham
ROCK MY WAY – 1/2 Pt EW 30/1 6 places Bet365, 33/1 5 places 25/1 5 places generally
WILLASTON – 1/2 Pt EW 23/1 6 places Bet365 22/1 6 places generally (25/1 5 with 365)
Taking these two cautiously in a very tough looking race but at the prices, thought chancing the two with proven course form were worth betting. It’s very early days on the jumps.
2:25 Cheltenham
SWAPPED – 1/2 Pt EW 40/1 5 places Paddy Power, 40/1 4 places generally
A chance is taken on this bold jumper (tactics that work well in chases on this track) at a huge price IMO. Granted, he is up in class but these chasers, when they get on a role can improve and he is still only 6 and interestingly, I don’t think this yard over face them if they don’t know what they have (He has run just 3 horses in Calss 2 handicap chases, achieving the form line of 2,1,2! The two 2nds beaten a Neck!)
Ex Henderson horse, his trainer is going very well with 5 winners and a 3 further 2nds from his last 10 runners. He is 3rd in on Racing Post ratings (151) and is progressive. He could blow out and not be up to this but at that price I am willing to find out on quietish Saturday!
