Two More Tips, Sat 7th Sept 2024

Good afternoon folks

A poor effort from our jockey at Ascot, surely he’s been watching and what’s going on with these slowly run races??

Not a great start to the weekend but some strong fancies tomorrow.

Two more are below, that’s all for Saturday. I have had to leave a few out to keep outlay down.

4:20 Kempton

INTERVENTION– 1.25 Pt EW @ 14/1 Paddy Power- UP 4 places, 12/1 normal 4 places, 11/1 4 places B.O.G generally

Likes this track and trip and is well handicapped on a few runs with plenty of these , like old favourite Ferrous (who I nearly went with) but our horse is over 10lbs better off with him for a 2 length win. Well drawn to stalk and pounce in stall 3, there looks a rocket pace set in this and the icing on the cake is the jockey booing who is 3 wins from 4 rides aboard him!! That all points to a very, very big effort granted a smooth passage, even more so with the yard on fire and I expect him to go close here!

5:05 Ascot

BROOKLYN NINE NINE– 3/4 Pt Win @ 15/2 Bet365, 5/1 generally

Been very unlucky, goes exceptionally well after a break and relish the stiff, soft 5 furlongs.

1:15 Haydock

PRAGUE– 3/4 Pt Win @ 10/1 Will Hill, 9/1 generally

Hopefully 3rd time lucky but his form is working out strongly with the likes of My Prospero, Sir Busker etc winning. Could get the run of the race, I like the jockey booking who rides the track well, especially on prominent runners like our fellow and this 1mile trip could bring about that win for us.

1:35 Ascot

STERLING KNIGHT– 1/2 Pt EW @ 33/1 4 places generally

RUN BOY RUN– 3/4 Pt Win @ 12/1 generally

The other one I like in this. Improving 3 year old should relish this stamina test and soft ground.

It certainly looked very hard work at Ascot and is still drizzling so weight and stamina will certainly play it’s part. This horse stays strongly, looks well drawn on 1st race evidence. I also like the booking of Callum Shepherd who has ONLY had 7 rides in handicaps for this yard in the past 3 years, gaining 2 winners, 3 placers. Sterling Knight stays strongly so looked very much over priced IMO and worth a play. (I have my eye on another one in this race but he is drifting so I shall wait a while)

2:25 Haydock

KNIGHTSWOOD– 3/4 Pt EW @ 10/1 boost Lads 4 places, 9/1 4 places generally

Most unlucky all season, repeatedly denied a clear run in quite a few big handicaps. Found 2 miles, racing keenly wide at York last time, too far and, although will need luck again from his inside stall, surely he has earned some and if getting it, has strong form/handicapped to go close in this!

3:15 Kempton

EBT’S GUARD– ¾ Pt EW @ 18/1 boost Lads 4 places, 16/1 4 places generally

TALIS EVOLVERE– 3/4 Pt Win @ 11/1 generally

EBT’s Guard was hampered last time but his previous form was strong. Yard do well here, especially when booking this jockey. He is 2 places from 2 runs at this track so with better luck granted the last twice when tipped, I am hoping for him to come smooth, strong and late down the outer to go close. Hannon has run three 4 year old geldings in this , winning with 2 and the other a big priced placer so I will chance his runner also who has been running very well in top handicaps on turf and goes well here too.

3:35 Haydock

SHOULDHAVEBEENARING– 1/2 Pt EW @ 16/1 4 places Bet365, 12/1 4 generally

FLORA OF BERMUDA– 1/2 Pt EW @ 45/1 boost 4 places Lads, 40/1 4 places generally (drifting so may get bigger)

The former has been trained ALL year with this in mind after his narrow victory in it last season. Connections state this is his ‘Derby’ so should go very well. 3 year old’s have a cracking record in this and I think Flora Of Bermuda is rapidly improving and looks a massive price to me so both worth backing.
