Morning folks
Well it’s over for another year, some cracking if not ultra competitive racing. We saw some good performances and although it was tough we edged in front.
Indeed, it could, MAYBE SHOULD, have been a stellar week had some of the narrow seconds turned into the all important winners. Again, handicaps and all aged races is where I excelled and I know it was a Festival so a lot lot different to weekend selecting, but the 2/3 year old, and fillies Stakes races are just not my bag and wasted points IMO which I am disappointed with. A lot of favourites win (which are obvious and I could easily select..So could Anyone!) so trying to pick like handicaps and opposing vulnerable favourites, finding value is not the same thing.
Anyway, 2nd place is the worst place on the planet to finish it? Makanah, Point Lynas were unlucky, the latter beat by an old rogue that NEVER wins, which was gutting. Sisyphus Strength SHOULD have won, a poor ride from Murphy, as was Oviedo IMO, cruising but too far back and this prominent racer I thought strange tactics! The most gutting of ALL though was ALBASHEER! That horse should have WON, and I know he got a share of the spoils but 20/1 was cut in half and that badly grated on me given his ride and luckless run. I was more disappointed on the tipping front for you rather than monetary gains!!
Hopefully, as I had to settle mainly for being denied getting enough on, YOU GOT the 6 places 33/1 Caius Chorister to boost the coffers. Another strange ride as I had hoped he would dictate but he looked cooked before running on strongly. Surely he would have gone closer with more positive tactics?
Still, they are very, very tough races and anyone that comes out with a profit well done!
With that, I will be back Friday with selections throughout the day for the usually busy Saturday action.
